Information
A type of Gem designed as a personal assistant to important Gems, and therefore one of the weakest types, as not only are they not designed for combat, but they are meant to be submissive and pose no threat to their owners. Pearls are status symbols for other Gems, and are explicitly considered objects. The Pearl we know is of course highly skilled and overcame all of this, but without such experiences, Pearls will appear quite weak in battle, lacking many abilities we've seen them to be capable of. That being said, they do have an ability unique among all Gems: instead of having a ten-item inventory like a normal character, they can store an infinite number of items inside their Gems, and can even put people in there as well. Anything stored enters a sort of mindscape, and for the most part can only be pulled out by the Pearl herself. In Arpeggio's interpretation, this is used in place of weapon summoning, assuming that Pearl from the show had a large number of spears stored, but would be unable to summon one were she to run out; this is inconsistent with the spears disappearing after being damaged, implying that they were light constructs like the other Gems' weapons, but she was shown to have a bunch in there, so this is what I'm going with for game mechanics' sake. Pearls are around the size of humans, and an individual Pearl is usually given a coloration to match her owner's, albeit always on the lighter side, and sometimes including multiple colors in a way that few other Gems are seen with (presumably referencing the iridescence of real pearls). They have long, pointy noses, and are manufactured at a Gem facility called the Reef, referencing their real-life aquatic origins. It's shown that when ordering a Pearl from the Reef, customization options include setting their summonable weapon (though since Pearls aren't supposed to be for combat, these are more like trinkets than weapons, such as a ribbon wand to dance with), but again I kind of have to ignore that for the game's sake.
