Information
A Dry Bones fused with a Bony Beetle. This results in a bit of a complicated skeletal enemy that not only collapses into a pile and later revives like a Dry Bones, but also alternately extends and withdraws spikes from its body like a Bony Beetle. The spikes up its Attack from 8 to 10, and of course damage anyone who touches it when they're out. Furthermore, it's no longer weak to Fire-type attacks, so while those can still take it out permanently, they won't deal extra damage to make that easier. The fusion is also healed by Poison-type attacks, and can create more Dry Bones to assist it.
Notes
- Dry Bonesy Beetles have two forms: one where the back of their shell is smooth, and one where it's covered in spikes. When their spikes are extended, they count as Spiky, and thier basic attack deals 10 damage instead of 8. The spikes extend or retract every time the Dry Bonesy Beetle takes damage from an attack (only changing once for multiple-hit attacks), but not if an attack deals no damage or is interrupted by Spikiness, and not if the attack flips the Dry Bonesy Beetle over. A Dry Bonesy Beetle may begin battle in either form, including multiple Dry Bonesy Beetles starting in different forms. Upon death, a Dry Bonesy Beetle collapses into a pile of bones that can still be targeted by attacks, but further damage to the pile has no harmful effect on it, although it will continue to extend and retract its spikes. As a pile, it can only use its Zombie Revival attack, which it can't use when it's still alive. If the pile is hit by a Fire-type attack, or if the living Dry Bonesy Beetle is killed by one, then it dissolves into ash and can no longer be revived by any means. XP is only awarded for fully killing it like this, but if only still-collapsed piles remain on the enemy team, then the players can choose to end the battle and receive XP from anything else they had killed. The Dry Bonesy Beetle will shortly revive in the field and attempt to reengage them in battle.
