Information
The blue mole who had previously seemed destined to become extinct in the first two Paper Mario games. In the second game's remake, after being whacked too many times, he takes up residence at the bottom of the Pit of 100 Trials, and can be fought repeatedly as a secret boss, but refers to the experience as "playing," so perhaps he's not as helpless as he looks. Indeed, each time he's attacked, a Whacka Bump falls off, and he can then hurl each of these bumps at his opponents all in one turn, so his fight is something of a game of stuffing the most damage that you can into as few hits as possible. I've rendered his stats a bit oddly here to give him a basic attack that was never seen in the real game, and to account for his official Defense Power of 1 seemingly only applying to certain attacks. Also note that Arpeggio has the Status Condition Reflectivity, which bounces back all projectile attacks—this would render Whacka unable to use his only gimmick, so feel free to make his bumps bypass the condition if that seems too cheap.
Notes
- Every time Whacka is hit by an attack (even if the attack deals no damage), a Whacka Bump falls off of him and counts as a discarded item, with a 10% chance for it to be a Red Whacka Bump instead of a normal one. Multiple-hit attacks produce Bumps for each hit, and Bumps are also produced if Whacka is hit by the environment, damaged by Status Problems, etc. As per normal Arpeggio mechanics, any character can pick up discarded items, but Whacka's special attacks make further use of them. He may pick up and eat a Bump in the same turn, or he may hurl all existing discarded Bumps at opponents in one turn, with each dealing 10 damage and Red Bumps dealing 25 with a [/] effect. Whacka's final attack involves hitting himself multiple times in order to produce more Bumps. At the Maestro's discretion, Whacka may be able to hurl other discarded items in addition to Bumps, whose effects will be determined at that time. Along with all of that, Whacka has a -1 resistance against Axe-type weapons, and a -2 resistance against explosions (explosive Axe-type weapons merely count as -2, not -3).
