Information
The pure black silhouette of a Dry Bones, or a Dark Bones... actually, I guess really a Dull Bones, because in Super Paper Mario it was called a Dark Dull Bones. (They didn't have regular Dark Bones, and Dull Bones there were stronger than Dry Bones instead of weaker.) Anyway, it only has the same amount of HP as a regular Dark Bones, but it's now immune to fire instead of weak to it, so like how Dry Bones normally function in Mario platformers, it's impossible to kill it permanently. All you can do is collapse it into a pile and then scoot on by before it rises again. There may possibly be very specific exceptions that can kill it completely, but these are not defined by default. In Super Paper Mario, they could be killed by Bowser's fire breath, but I like this better.
Notes
- Upon death, it collapses into a pile of bones that can still be targeted by attacks, but further damage to the pile has no practical effect. As a pile, it can only use its Zombie Revival attack, which it can't use when it's still alive. XP is only awarded the first time it collapses. If only still-collapsed piles remain on the enemy team, then the players can choose to end the battle, but the Dark Dark Bones will shortly revive in the field and attempt to reengage them in battle. There is no way to kill a Dark Dark Bones permanently.
