Information
A particularly powerful Duplighost who lived at Creepy Steeple and terrorized the residents of Twilight Town. His strategy is indirect: he's weaker than Macho Grubba, but when defeated, he stole Mario's name and body and took his place as the hero. There's no telling what kinds of shenanigans he could get up to if he successfully replaced one of the player characters in a game of Arpeggio, but this trick only works on a victim who doesn't know Doopliss's name. Also, we'll assume the pig curse was only possible with the help of a Crystal Star, because I'm not really sure how to write that up.
Notes
- ~When he steals a body, the victim becomes a shadow of their former self (literally) and unable to speak their name, or otherwise use it (for example to get through the pipe in Twilight Town). The shadow person retains all items and weapons, but weapons take on a shadowy form and Doopliss (in the person's body) also gains copies of all weapons the person had on hand.
- ~While occupying another's body, Doopliss will take no damage and receive no Status Problems from any kind of attack executed by anyone who doesn't know his real name. Speaking his name aloud in his presence lifts this invincibility.
- ~If Doopliss is defeated in another body, the original owner regains the body, unharmed and with all items intact, and Doopliss loses his copies of their weapons.
