Information
A Cheep Cheep that "swims" through sand instead of water, and wears a fake navy-blue shark fin strapped to its back. The fin is visible above the surface as it swims, and Sand Cheeps mingle with actual shark-like enemies called Sharkbones for safety. Thus, when in battle against a mixed group of the two, players will be unable to tell which is which. Additionally, despite the fins being visible aboveground (and these being attackable in Superstar Saga), in Arpeggio only certain attacks can reach them, such as earthquakes or psychic attacks. This is based on Bug Fables's underground enemies, but in this case they aren't forced aboveground when hit, so you might find yourself unable to attack them at all.
Notes
- All Sand Cheeps and Sharkbones present in a battle remain underground, with just their fins sticking up, for the duration of the battle, and continually "swim" around, mingling such that players can't keep track of which is which. Either can only be hit by attacks that can reach underground targets (so psychic attacks or things like earthquakes), but even after being damaged, they continue shuffling so that players don't even know if they're attacking the same one until only one remains. If a Sand Cheep or Sharkbone is given flight as a Status Benefit, it is no longer hidden while flying, so it counts as a normal, unmingled target until the flight wears off.
