Information
A Goomba wearing a small green hat with a single metal spike sticking straight upward. These guys represent one of the main differences between Arpeggio and Paper Mario: since Mario's main method of attack is jumping square atop the target's head, he'd normally get poked by the hat, but Arpeggio attempts to account for varying forms of player attack, most of which would be able to aim somewhere other than directly at the spike, meaning that Spiked Goombas and similarly single-spiked creatures don't count as officially "Spiky" in Arpeggio terms. Creatures with more spikes all over them, such as Spinies, will still damage people who attempt melee attacks on them, but the Spiked Goombas get cheated out of that privilege. As a result, the spike merely provides them an additional point of Attack Power.
