Information
A breed of "dog" of comparable size to the various races of small humanoids who command Pikmin. Fur color can vary, but they usually have darker, perfectly round spots, and they only have two legs. It's unknown which planet these pups originated on, but nowadays they're trained to assist Rescue Corps officers in their missions to, well, rescue castaways on various planets, including PNF-404, the home of the Pikmin. When it comes to Pikmin-style gameplay, a pup can act as a captain, whistling Pikmin to its side, but it can also do Pikmin-y things itself, like attack enemies or help carry objects. This comes with a whole skill tree system, but perhaps most notably, a Pikmin squad will generally hop on the pup's back for a ride, as opposed to simply following a captain around, and along with making the overall group a smaller target, this can let them reach new places if the pup can jump or swim well enough, and the huddling can even warm up non-Ice Pikmin in cold places.
